Ottendorfer Hütte in Kirnitzschtal

From the outside it doesn't look so inviting, but it's all the more cozy on the inside. We were only here for coffee. The apple strudel was ok, but nothing special. The service was friendly, but had also forgotten part of the order. Overall, you can recommend the hut for a stop at.

At the beginning of September I was with my friends in the Ottendorfer Hut for almost a week. All in all we had a great stay. The hut we slept in was clean and cozy, the owner was nice and accommodated our needs. The food was also good and we were able to put together dishes from the menu, so that we as vegetarians could also have a little variety. Unfortunately there was an incident with a group of men that ruined our stay. The men's group had been following us permanently from the time they arrived. One evening it happened that one of the men took a photo of me and a friend with a disposable camera without our consent. We then requested the destruction or surrender of the camera and pointed out that our personal rights had been violated. A discussion arose in which sexist statements and condescending slogans were made again and again. We were called "approaching women" and the men said "we could be their daughters". The hut staff interfered, unfortunately not as we would have expected. One of the cooks spoke to me aggressively and loudly and stood extremely close to me, so that I was scared and also felt physically insecure. The waitress met us neither with neutrality nor with support and asked what had happened, but simply assumed that it was our fault and therefore treated us like troublemakers. We were more than shocked and disappointed about the behavior of the staff. I have already contacted the owner and have received feedback from her that the incident is being processed again within the team and that the de-escalation strategy is being worked on. Personally, of course, I would like to see consequences for the chef's behavior and at least neutrality for the future, especially if the discussion has not been noticed. I am not writing this review to harm the cabin as we were very satisfied apart from that evening. However, I see it as my duty to make this incident transparent so that women traveling alone in particular can take the behavior of the staff into account when booking.

A beautifully located, lovingly and professionally managed hut with rustic accommodation, first-class cuisine and nostalgic details in the dining room. The hut is a perfect starting point for hikes in the magical rocky world of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

Super nice hosts, delicious food, always lots of great tips for climbing / hiking tours, etc.! In the climbing school, adults and children feel really safe and in good hands - and it brings tons of fun and adventure anyway! Thanks to Bea & Steffen, we'd love to come back!

Very convivial huts in the middle of sächsische sweiß perfect for starting some hikes and really friendly staff and good food at the restaurant (even vegetarian friendly!)

We stayed as a family in a four-bed room and were very satisfied. Everything was clean and functional. The hosts are very nice and helpful. The food is fantastic and delicious - really great. After a short start we even got gluten-free food, which was delicious and varied! The breakfast was plentiful and varied. It was a great stay all round. We would love to come back!

If you are looking for good and simple accommodation, you have come to the right place. The operators of the hut are super nice and seek contact with the guests. We were housed in a construction trailer, which made the weekend a bit adventurous. The a la carte food was good and plentiful. The breakfast extensive to start a strenuous hike. We felt completely at ease. Gladly again and thanks to the operators and staff for their commitment and friendliness.

We were looking for accommodation to spontaneously extend our vacation by a few days. We got the tip in a café in Pirna. Everything went quickly and easily. We could rent bed linen and towels. Our accommodation was simple and clean. Just like the sanitary facilities. We could eat well in the adjoining restaurant. Everything worked out fine for us and we had a good time.

Pleasant hiking accommodation with a great location. Equipment and cleanliness are impeccable. The landlady is super friendly, the service staff partly also, sometimes quite stingy. I would like to give a big extra star for family friendliness.

Super friendly! We had a mortz march of violence of 12 hours behind us and therefore did not arrive until very late in the evening. Nevertheless, we were greeted very warmly with food and drink and tasted.

We ate here several times in the evening. The best dish is probably the game goulash with dumplings. It tasted great without being as oily as it often tastes in inns. The beer was cold and came quickly. The service was really always very attentive and super friendly, even when there was a lot going on. We would love to come back.

Clean, friendly, modern! Only that the warm shower costs coins, I found it inconvenient.

It was a great time, our children really enjoyed the "freedom and life in nature". The accommodation is simple but very clean. The food is delicious and even the special request for a birthday cake for our youngest was fulfilled without any complications. Thank you for the great time, we'd love to come back!

I took a two-day climbing course here with a buddy. If the other course instructors are only half as cool as Chris, then the competition should come in here quickly. It was a great climbing course and I now feel safe when it comes to securing my climbing partner, the important knots and climbing on the rocks using top rope. Many thanks to the team at the Ottendorfer Hütte. Very nice people who also understand fun.

Friendly innkeepers, uncomplicated and the food tastes good too. Accommodation simple but good.

Very nice couple that runs the hut here. Incredibly uncomplicated and a lightness that is contagious. So you can enjoy your vacation. :)

It's a Gutte Hütte

A very cosy stay with a very nice atmosphere. Everything is straight to the point so you have more time to enjoy the surroundings. The breakfast is good and I would advise going for the lunchpacket option as well if you are going hiking for a whole day. As a bit of a down side there is just one shower per sex. But this is only for 5 min for 0.50€ . The restaurant part of the establishment was basic but also not expensive.

Wonderful facility and food at a very affordable all inclusive price. Showers are cold but you can get 5 minutes of hot water for €0.50

Good place to be. Close to all good (hiking) trails. Nice hosts. Recommended!

After my 5 star holiday in South Tyrol, this comes in second place. Very friendly staff, everything was very clean, value for money top. Always my pleasure.

Here you can in a very lovingly decorated dining room delicious food and drinks to take. The staff is friendly and very attentive so you do not have to wait long if you want to order something else. In the guest room you can look at some exhibits from the past days of the GDR and the Saxon Switzerland. Sanitary facilities are clean. Unfortunately, I can not give any information about the guest rooms, as we have not used them yet.
